Bank of Spain: Recession easing in Q2

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 01:30 AM PDT

  • Sees Q2 GDP at -0.1% q/q vs -0.5% in Q1
  • Q2 GDP -1.8% y/y vs -2.0% in Q1
  • Strong exports drove moderation of recession
  • Growth contraction pace moderated significantly

These are estimates from the BOS monthly review so yet to be confirmed by the actual data. You can be sure they will be pretty spot on though.

A rise in exports (+1.2% Q2 vs -1.3% Q1) and increased tourism are the main drivers behind the forecast.

Still a very long way to go in turning round a 2% year on year decline.

Here are the levels for today.

Got the time it takes down to about 50-60 mins. Still a work in progress. I’m thinking about dropping the moving averages from the list as most people should have those anyway. Let me know what you think.
