UK retail sales up at 08.30 gmt

Posted: 15 Aug 2013 01:19 AM PDT

Retail sales have been looking strong in the last few months and forecasters are looking for another monthly rise at 0.6% from 0.2% with year on year sales moving up to 2.5% from 2.2%. According to my feet on the ground, July had a strong start but tailed off in the last week or so. Many schools broke up which can give mixed results of people heading to the airport or doing last minute holiday shopping.

The good weather has continued to be a strong factor also so we should see sales remain up on the whole.
